Rails no longer includes OpenBase, FrontBase, or Firebird adapters as part of the default Active Record install (for trunk and Rails 2, Rails 1.2.x has not changed). These adapters will become available as Gems. If you need one of these, Google for it. I’m not sure where they will end up, but RubyForge is a good bet.

They were removed to allow them to be updated at a different pace then Rails itself - pairing down the maintenance and update cost of for Rails.
